Geographical information is playing a major role in assuring stability and a safe future in the whole region.
SilkGIS2020 will focus on the role of GIS for a better management of land, water and the quality of life. Special attention will be given to (subjects not limited to) the development of the geospatial technologies and databases for biodiversity and ecosystems, big data in GI, mapping and management of natural resources, natural hazards and emergency management, water-drought issues in the context of climate and land-use change, GI for natural and cultural heritage,...
The conference will start on Monday July 6th, 2020 afternoon and will be held till Wednesday 8th noon in the premises of Ghent University (Belgium), followed by two optional visits to Bruges and Antwerp.
