Isfahan University of Technology had its first series of scientific meetings online by holding a scientific seminar on "Innovation and Entrepreneurship" with an innovative entrepreneurship approach on May 19, 2022.

This event was attended by Prof. Yahya Tabesh, a prominent faculty member from Sharif University of Technology and holder of the Erdős International Medal in 2010; Dr. Mohsen Hejrati, a graduate of Sharif University of Technology & a Ph.D. in Computer Science, University of California, Irvine & Senior scientist in self-driving car projects at Google and also a senior scientist at Genentech Pharmaceutical Company; and Dr. Behzad Tabibian, a graduate of Iran University of Science and Technology & a Ph.D. in artificial intelligence from the Max Planck Institute (Germany) who is also the founder of the Rezonal startup in Germany and Silicon Valley.

Dr. Majid Salamat, the Secretary of the Conference at IUT, stated that according to the UNESCO declaration, to take basic sciences into account as the main basis for global development and progress, 2022 has been called the World Year of Basic Sciences and Sustainable Development. In this regard,Isfahan University of Technology intends to form a group called the Working Group for Basic Sciences Promotion consisting of a group of professors from the faculties of basic sciences (mathematical sciences, chemistry, and physics) and a group of professors from the engineering departments of IUT with an interdisciplinary approach. These lectures are held by prominent professors and experts in various fields of science and technology in both face-to-face and virtual forms on the last Wednesday of each month via https://nikan.iut.ac.ir/mul-dis-sem/?proto=true.
