Iftar Ceremony for International Students of IUT

To create a spirit of vivacity among international students and also to get them acquainted with the variety of customs and rituals of fasting in the countries where the Muslim students of IUT come from, the International Student Center (ISC) of IUT invited these students and their families to an Iftar Ceremony along with a food festival of nations on April 27, 2022 (Ramadan 27, 1443).

The ceremony was attended by the IUT President, Vice-presidents for Education, & Students Affairs, and the Director of the International
Scientific Cooperation Center. Prof. Mohammad Javad Omidi, Director of the International Scientific Cooperation Center, stated that
international students have a significant role at Isfahan University of Technology; accordingly, effective decisions and measures have been taken to facilitate their affairs and also take more international
students. Measures such as holding research-based doctoral courses, facilitating some educational regulations, reducing tuition fees, and offering scholarships have been taken for international students.

In this ceremony, the international students of the university from Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and Yemen spoke about the customs of their countries during the month of Ramadan and also talked about the special foods of their countries they prepare and serve during this month. They welcomed each other at the table of the food festival they set during the ceremony.
